ER Department

• ER accepts all medical situations (Emergency & urgent, adult & pediatric cases together with surgical & medical cases) except :
- Cases need micro vascular surgery .
- Major degree of burns which requires admission.

The location of IMC at (KM. 42) Cairo Ismailia Desert Road gives a great importance to emergency room for the following reasons :
- Being on a high way road, ER receives many road traffic accidents (RTA).
- As IMC is near to 10th of Ramadan city , which has thousands of workers working in many factories, we are expecting to receive many work accidents.
- Overall, ER has an easy access through road, as it is away from the crowded traffic in the center of Cairo .

• ER staff :
- ER Chief … Surgery & hospital management specialist has a long experience in ER.
- ER doctors … who are qualified, and trained to handle with all types of emergency situations efficiently .
- Chief ER nurse – ER nurses- EMTs – Medical record officer – Finance officer – Data entry officer - Secretary – Porters – House keepers .
In addition we have 24 hour coverage of in-house different specialists who come immediately when they were called.

• ER Rooms :
Total 17 Beds :
- General Exam Rooms (3 Beds) .
- VIP room (2 Beds).
- Orthopedic Room (1 Bed).
– OBG Room (1 Bed) .
- Pediatrics Room (1 Bed)
- Observation Room (4 Beds )
- Trauma cases (5 beds ).
- Isolation room (4 Beds)
- Critical Beds (2 Beds ).

• ER Equipment:
- All rooms are completely equipped for everything as regards any medical & trauma injuries for all age groups.
- Medications & consumables.
- 12 Wheel chairs and 3 stretchers used to receive cases coming to the ER department .
- Crash Cart :
To deal immediately with cases of cardiac arrest. They are prepared and checked according to international standards.

• Vaccinations :
Anti- Snake V./ Anti-Scorpion V./ Anti-rabies V./titanic serum.

• Department of removing various pollution cases :
The department is provided by a special room of decontamination of cases with chemical ,biological,or even radiological contamination .


• (PACS) room (Packing archiving communicating system):
- Helps rapid follow up of all radiological findings of patients via a computer system.

• ER team at IMC :
- Trauma Team (Gen. Surgery / Orthopedic / Neurosurgery /Cardiothoracic surgery )
- Code Blue Team (Cardiology / Anesthesia / Chief IMC Nurse / ICU Nurse )

• Ambulances :
IMC has 5 fully equipped ambulances ready over 24 hours , 7 days a week.
