A general medical examination is a set of laboratory tests, diagnostic imaging scans, and other routine procedures that should be performed periodically. These tests allow for the early detection and prevention of risk factors for certain diseases. The most appropriate tests are selected for each patient based on several factors, including their health status, age, gender, and other considerations. It is recommended that adults aged 18-40 undergo a comprehensive examination every five years, and every one to three years after age 40. Some tests, such as the HbA1c test, are recommended annually.
