The neurosurgical department at the ( IMC ) offers the most advanced surgical care for illness and injury to the brain and nervous system in adult and children. We treat the range of complex cases , including brain tumors, head injuries, AV malformations ,functional disorders, neuralgia and other neurological conditions.
Advanced technology is making surgical treatment even more successful than ever before for problems such as, brain tumors, ,vascular neurosurgery, head injuries, spine injuries and disease.

The gamma knife is the most recent tool to treat variety of brain lesions via radio-surgery without direct surgical intervention but through beams of stereotactic calculated radiation source of cobalt 60. It is surgical precision tool in neurosurgeon hand.

The Gamma Knife is not actually a "knife", in the sense of a surgical blade, but rather a method of administering high dose radiation with surgical precision to a very specific area of tissue within the cranial region, while affecting an extremely small volume of surrounding healthy tissue.

The Gamma Knife Surgery delivers a beam of gamma radiation (photon particles) from distinct Cobalt 60 sources . The individual beams do not harm healthy tissue as they travel through the brain, but as they arrive at the abnormal target tissue, the concentration of all beams has the capacity to destroy that tissues ability to survive.
